Stephen F. Austin High School Replacement and Modernization
Austin High’s 1930s-era building was the second oldest in the Houston Independent School District when ERO Architects was selected to modernize its facilities. Red-bricked Austin High has been an iconic building in the Eastwood community for over eight decades. The revitalized Austin High is a 21st Century school that pays homage to the past with an art deco-influenced façade that was preserved and refurbished. All spaces are flexible for collaborations between teachers and students with an emphasis on facilitating a culture of high achievement and effective communication. Austin High School has been reinvigorated with guiding principles that honor its history while an ERO-designed campus prepares students for the challenges of tomorrow.
