San Juan Parks and Rec Park

During his tenure at ERO Architects, Edgar Villanueva contributed to the master planning and design for this comprehensive recreational destination that brings diverse athletic, leisure, and community activities together in a unified park campus. The master plan integrates multiple soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, splash pad, playground equipment, and shaded pavilions within a thoughtfully designed landscape network.

Curvilinear walking and jogging paths connect activity zones while creating opportunities for casual recreation and community gathering. A signature sculptural element featuring the park’s identity serves as a central landmark and wayfinding beacon. Strategic tree placement provides natural shade corridors and defines spatial boundaries between active recreation areas and passive green spaces. The design emphasizes accessibility, safety, and multi-generational use, ensuring the park serves as an inclusive community asset for families, youth sports programs, and residents of all ages.
