Edinburg Parking Garage
As Project Manager at ERO Architects, Edgar Villanueva developed the design strategy for this innovative parking structure that transforms essential infrastructure into an activated mixed-use destination energizing Edinburg’s downtown core. The design integrates structured parking with ground-level commercial tenant spaces, creating street-level vitality and pedestrian engagement while efficiently serving downtown parking demand.
The building’s contemporary facade features vertical metal panel cladding with prominent City of Edinburg branding, establishing a strong civic identity while concealing the utilitarian parking structure behind. Colorful retail storefronts along the street edge, sheltered by vine-covered pergolas and landscaped pedestrian zones, create an inviting retail corridor that encourages foot traffic and supports local businesses. Strategic vertical tower elements and architectural lighting enhance the building’s presence as a downtown landmark. This project demonstrates a commitment to designing parking infrastructure that catalyzes economic development, supports downtown revitalization, and creates welcoming public spaces.
This project was completed during Edgar Villanueva’s tenure as Project Manager at ERO Architects, who served as architect of record. Images shown may include new renderings created by Raine Architects to illustrate the project’s design character and scope.
