San Juan City Hall
Edgar Villanueva served as Project Manager at ERO Architects for this distinguished civic center that embodies the dignity and accessibility essential to municipal governance. The building’s elegant composition features graceful arched windows and decorative perforated metal panels that reference regional architectural heritage while establishing a thoroughly contemporary civic presence.
A carefully articulated facade rhythm alternates between warm brick masonry and crisp white stucco, creating visual interest and human scale across the building’s length. The welcoming public plaza with outdoor gathering spaces and landscaped entries reinforces the building’s role as the heart of San Juan’s civic life, encouraging community engagement and democratic participation. Extensive glazing throughout ensures transparency in government operations while flooding interior spaces with natural light. This facility represents a commitment to designing public buildings that honor civic tradition, inspire public trust, and serve as enduring landmarks for community identity.
This project was completed during Edgar Villanueva’s tenure as Project Manager/Designer at ERO Architects, who served as architect of record. Images shown may include new renderings created by Raine Architects to illustrate the project’s design character and scope.
